I finally pinned down the water thing!

It's not "water awareness month" Martha was talking about. I mean, she mentioned it, but that wasn't what they were talking about in the episode mentioned in my last blog. Emeril was talking about the Tap Project.
The Tap Project is an awesome program where restaurant patrons pay $1 for water, which they normally drink for free. That money goes to the Tap Project. Every $1 the Tap Project gets provides 40 days of clean water for a child.

Watch the video! (I figured out how to post them, yay!)

It's very inspirational, and everyone should participate! Blog about it yourself! Tell your local newspapers, radio stations and TV stations! If you run a restaurant or work at one, or know someone who does, tell them about the Tap Project and encourage them to get on board with it!
This is exactly the kind of thing where one person can make a HUGE difference in the world. $1 for 40 days of clean water for a child. Imagine if you took a party of 5 to dinner at a restaurant participating in the Tap Project! That's a lot of clean water, for such a small amount. Your one little glass of water can give a poor child without clean water 40 days of healthy drinking. That's a really amazing thing to think about.

Everyone likes to make excuses for not getting involved in charity projects, saying their contributions wouldn't be enough to make a difference. Well here's one of those counter-examples to that. There's no commitment required, like with those organizations that ask for a monthly donation. All it is, is paying for the water you'd normally drink free when you go out to eat.
Get off your patooties and do something good for someone besides yourself!
